I am currently having post-vacation syndrome, where I'm lazy in doing anything, and that includes blogging. My bag is still at the corner of my room and all the small bottles of shampoos and some daily essentials are still in there and I don't even bother to unpack them.
Not that I stopped cleansing my face after returning or some sort. It's just because I still have those in the regular size bottle or container or whatsoever. Those where just samples or some bottles I've filled with my own shampoos especially for vacations. LOL! xD
So, if you've read my blog, you would know that I was heading to the beach for vacation with my bf and friends, Lii Ling & Terrence, on National Day. We had started planning this trip for almost 2 months. We're all working so the only time we can relax and head out for some fun is during the weekends and holidays.
Hi hi=) Ah Mat (Terrence) drove us up that day.
It took us 1½ hours to reach Lundu Retreat Resort. Thus, braid my hair into fish-tail braid instead to kill some time.
OMG did I see double chin here?!
Reached! Wearing my kitty t-shirt. Hehe. Cute right? Lol
Since the National Day falls on Friday, it would be the perfect time for us to head to somewhere farther from the city. We could also rest at home after returning so we won't look like zombies working the next day.
We have long to stay at this resort ever since it was opened to public I don't know when. Hahaha. But it took us quite awhile to decide as the price per night were quite pricey and we still don't know if it the stay would match the price. If you know what I mean.
However, in the end, we fell for it. Just because our friends never been there before (my bf & I have been there with his secondary school's buddies but just to walk on the beach though), we all never stayed there before, obviously, and I think I would be nice to give it a try and IF it turns out right we might be visiting sooner than you think! =)
My friend here, has the photographer instinct among us. She will always ask her bf to take pictures of the place or her or her at the place. LOL. But mostly her. hahaha. Maybe I should learn from her so that I would have more pictures for this blog^^ *fingers crossed*
I find this photo above particularly funny. =D
Fool around until it's too hot that we hide under the tree for shelter.
Too hot! Can't stand not tying my hair up.
Fool around until it's too hot that we hide under the tree for shelter.
Waiting under the tree for our room to be cleaned. And having numerous sand fly bites on our legs because of that. = =ll
Checked in was 2pm but we reach at around 1:30pm. This troubles me because I never have such encounter before. Maybe I've in no right to say this as I only been to few hotels and resorts before, but do they really need 2 hours to clean a single room? Okay maybe they need. = = But I really beh tahan liao 'cause the weather was scrouching hot! I NEED THE AIRCON! And mind you, the lobby has no aircon too.
Our room is facing directly towards the sea so quite convenient and we don't have to walk that far to and from the beach
Oh btw, our room is a chalet (premier), thus equipped with an open concept bathroom! XD
It was horrible I tell you. Not because of the condition of the bathroom, but the open concept. We were all not used to the concept and I kept imagining things like a head popping from the side of the wall and watching us bathing= = But that, only happens to me and friends (imagining things I mean). My bf has no trouble bathing there and said it was nothing. Huh! Proud ass! LOL! XD
And so, after the usual Wahhh and Wwuuuu, we finally calm ourselves down and had snacks that we brought along for this trip.
The weather was very hot as I've mentioned earlier on, so we sat in the room for quite awhile before deciding to head out and play.
By the time we really decided to go, the sun is already been blocked by the buildings and it was cool and breezy.
Terrence had brought his boomerang and we tried to play with it out in the open at the mini soccer field. You know how they always throw the boomerang on Tvs? Throwing it out in the air effortlessly and it will return to you, just like magic? It all seem so damn easy right? But the reality kills you. = =
We tried like forever and the most the boomerang would fall is 1metre away from where I stood. And that only happened ONCE!
DAMN YOU BOOMERANG! Lol.
And I almost hit some stranger beside the field. Damn paiseh you know?!
Gave up after all the unsuccessful attempts and head to the sea for a swim^^ Good choice I would say. Water was so clear and with slight warmth to it. Just nice. =D
Went swimming in the pool with bf right after getting up from the sea and while waiting for our friends to shower. I don't really like swimming in pool water when there is no sun because it would be freezing cold and I can't stand being in there for even half hour swimming. I have no fat in my body to insulate wtf.
Clockwise starting from the top. Mix vege, carbonara spaghetti, hotdogs and sweet & sour fish. As you can see, those are food we could find at the fast food stall on daily basis, except for the carbonara of course. To me that was unacceptable. I don't pay that much to have something so common. Hmmm I'm not quite sure what is consider "uncommon" but I'm pretty sure those are not in the list. I'm not saying that they MUST serve high class food like foie gras (even I don't eat those), scallop or something, but at least, other than those I suppose.
So for the mix vege, it's tasteless, a VERY healthy dish, I would say. Too healthy that they didn't add any salt to it.
The carbonara I have not much complaint to it, thou it's a bit too watery for me. I think if it was more creamier, then I would say it's the nicest dish among the others in the buffet.
Same goes to the sweet & sour fish, just okay. And for the hotdogs, I have no comments for it. What could go wrong with hotdogs right? If a person can then he/she would be hopeless. (and I am the hopeless one. LOL!!)
There goes Retreat's dinner buffet's review. The guys were quite happy about it thou. Because they don't have to bother going then found out the food was MEH and they get to eat seafood with empty stomach.
Lii Ling was the most excited one, to be able to have seafood for this trip, ESPECIALLY CRAAABBBBBSSSS~ Crabby crabby^^
WE LOVE CRABS!! Hahaha.
Up next! Few shots of the food by Terrence.
Head back to the resort straight after dinner and went out to the beach and start a fire using twigs and coconut shells. Was going to sort of "BBQ" the corns that we bought at the Lundu Market before reaching the resort.
Setting up a fire kind of reminded me of days in scouts. Miss it a lot. Going to the jungle camping and sorts. AhhhHHH! I MISS IT!! *grabbing and pulling hair*
In the end, after waited for so long for the corns to cooked, the corns are not edible! = = It's still raw and it's just like biting into crunchy rocks! GOSH!
Feeling disappointed, we head back to our room, planning to spend our night playing Monopoly. But who knows, all collapsed after watching not more than 30mins of "Superman" on tv! We have no life one. LOL! XD All aunties and uncles. Haha!
Incredibly there this huge crowd of people, all with their DSLR with them, waiting patiently by the beach early in the morning just to capture the beautiful sight.
We both went back to the room after a long stroll along the beach. Woke up two sleepy heads and head to the pool together.
By then, the Sun was so so hot that none feel like swimming and just relax in the water under the shades. The water was incredibly cool thus I have to start swimming to warm myself up.
And.......I had sunburned because of that. Haih. Worse still, I only realised it during shower after that when I dry myself with my towel. OH THE PAIN! = =
Since it's still early after we had packed our stuff and checked out, we decided to take pictures.
Ran around couple spots and had our picture taken^^
*p.s.: You may stop here if you do not wish to read any of my rants. If not, please help yourselves and continue reading =)*
By the time we were all in car and ready to head home, my bf suddenly realised his phone was not with him. In mind my I'm pretty sure he had lost it as he tends to be a bit careless with all the little details. But I strongly believe that I could have been wrong and he might just left it in his bag. Tried calling and searching the bags but to no avail.
He went back alone to the rooftop terrace near the beach where we had out last picture taken and I followed him soon after that. He reached the top and I could see kids from other resort next to the one we went to hurriedly ran down from the top where my bf was still searching.
I tried to call again when I was on my way there and what I heard was this "The number you have dialled is currently unavailable......". The call suddenly just wont get through! And they have probably had the phone switched off or sim card taken out. I'm not saying that for sure it's those kids that took it, but HEY!
F**K YOU KIDS! Didn't your parents ever taught you not to steal!?! Oh I'm sorry, I think even if your parents doesn't teach you you should be old enough to be able to know what's right and wrong! I'm guessing they are probably primary 6 to Secondary 3 students.
Really, F**K YOU!
I came here to relax and enjoy and to be happy, not GOING FRUSTRATED OVER A MISSING PHONE!
I also know that I shouldn't blame anyone but ourselves for losing it in the first place, but you could have made some people's day just being kind enough to send the phone to the reception or wait until the owner comes and look for it right?!
And worse still, I think how he reacted had proof me right when we went to the next resort along the beach to seek permission to talk to the boy we seen (very distinctive as he dyed his hair golden) from their guardian. I think they having church outing.
When asked whether he had seen a phone at/near the terrace top area when he went there and play just now, he said a single word "no" and turn his back on us. FEELING GUILTY EI BOY???????
He then had his friends to back him up saying they just had lunch, came out to have activity with the group and had never set foot on the other resort before.
WTF?! Never set foot there?! Then what did I saw back then?!? A couple of ghosts in broad daylight that looks exactly like them!?!?! Wtfffffffffffffffff.
Really, I'm speechless after writing out this. Maybe we are destined to lose it but "seeing" kids steal and lie just make my heart turn cold.
I'm not going to continue ranting about this matter any more after this but I really hope that he and the other boys would not grown up becoming a burglar or something. As they say if there's once, there's twice. *sigh*
Ok so that's it! Thank you so much for those who don't and those that read through my rants patiently^^ Will try to blog more after this so stay tuned! *air kisses* BYE! ❤
Heading to our room
Oh btw, our room is a chalet (premier), thus equipped with an open concept bathroom! XD
Open concept bathroom with a too excited me inside.

Our all time favourite, CHEEZEL!
Sorry for the small pic. Thought I've taken a photo of it but couldn't find inside the camera.
Guess what is this? ;D
(psst! Give you a hint. It's crispy. Comment below and if you know the answer=])

After everyone is done, it's time for dinner and we were
all starving. Since we only got 2 tickets for the dinner at the resort,
the guys suggested that we girls tried out the dinner 1st then message
them if it's worth the money for them to dine at the resort's buffet
dinner. Si beh lame.
View of the sea at around 7pm. The real deal is absolutely more pretty than what the picture can portray.
View of our chalet at night.
In my mind I was thinking, since the resort is so pricey and all the facilities seems so nice, the food must be up to the standards too. And by thinking that, I was led to even greater disappointment!
Some of the food of my choice
Clockwise starting from the top. Mix vege, carbonara spaghetti, hotdogs and sweet & sour fish. As you can see, those are food we could find at the fast food stall on daily basis, except for the carbonara of course. To me that was unacceptable. I don't pay that much to have something so common. Squid cooked with I don't know what. xD
Crabs with salted eggs.
Mixed vege.
Butter prawns. The white thingy covering the prawns are actually milk powder. Very nice indeed!
Um...Hai Sem Teng? Don't know what it was really called in English though. Sea cucumber soup?? I think. LOL!
Head back to the resort straight after dinner and went out to the beach and start a fire using twigs and coconut shells. Was going to sort of "BBQ" the corns that we bought at the Lundu Market before reaching the resort.
Corn bought during the day

Woke up by bf to see the sunrise.
A glimpse of some dedicated photographers.
Taken after that and the sun was too bright to sit there and watch anymore. Squinting eyes. Nah not really. Not even facing the Sun.
We both went back to the room after a long stroll along the beach. Woke up two sleepy heads and head to the pool together.
My cute polar bear, dumb dumb on the bed=))
