My Skin Care Regime & Naruko Products

Long post ahead!

I have always uses only tape water to cleanse my face until I have started working.

Then I bought my first skincare product, a cleanser, AHA + BHA Face Wash from Hada Labo. Then I proceed to buy products from the same brand, its toner, or lotion as they call it, and moisturizer. The range I used was Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing.

Those was great, don't get me wrong, but I've found that the moisturizer was too thick for me and it stays on top of my face even after half hour of application. Thus, I have concluded that it wasn't suitable for me. The toner though was awesome. It was one of their best seller too.

I then turned to Clinique and tried out their moisturizer after receiving some samples. It was good. I'm not sure whether it's because of my skin was lack of moisture that it'll absorb anything or what, but it does absorb the moisturizer instantly after applied.

I went ahead and bought a bottle of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, which they now have a new version of it in "+".

One bottle of 125ml lasted me for almost a year then my skin condition changes. It stays longer on top of my skin at the end and I feel maybe it's time to change to a new moisturizer.

Since Clinique was on the pricey side. I consult my friends and colleagues for a cheaper alternative. A good friend and colleague of mine recommended Naruko for me to try it out.

Price wise was average if you compare to those drugstore brands like Neutrogena, Skinz and so on. Since then, I have been using Naruko for more than a year now and I just bought myself more of their products last month.

So as you can see, basically my collection of skincare that I have been using.

From the left:
1. Apple Seed & Tranexamic Acid Black Spots and Lines Defying Eye Concentrate
2. Apple Seed & Tranexamic Acid Black Spots and Lines Defying Lotion
3. Apple Seed & Tranexamic Acid Brightening Clay Mask & Cleanser In 1
4. Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Moisturizer EX
5. Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Foaming Wash EX
6.  Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Moisturizer EX
7. Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrator EX

The bottom:
8. Narcissus Repairing Serum
9. Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Complex EX

Not in the picture:
10. Rose & Snow Fungus Classic Hydrating Night Eye Gelly
11. Rose & Botanic Hydrating Mask EX
12. Raw Job’s Tears Supercritical CO2 Pore Minimizing & Brightening Mask

The Apple Seed Series is mainly for dark spot reduction and fine lines. I first bought the eye concentrate for my dark circle and fine lines, follow by the lotion and clay mask & cleanser 2 in 1. It's very light and easily spread out during application. For lazy people like me, I would recommend this. HAHA!

The lotion or toner has thicker consistency as compare to the Rose Series as I will be mentioning below.

The cleanser was alright and somehow too drying for me if I used it as clay mask. Tried twice with the mask and used as cleanser only after that.

The Rose Series is recommended for dry skin. It is a moisturizing range. I bought the cleanser first then follow by the lotion and moisturizer. The first and second from the right is basically the same thing, moisturizer with different packaging. Purple bottle with red label was their old packing. I went on to purchase the same series for the moisturizer after finishing the first. It was just that good. And the colour of the packing now is dark pink and I had to admit, every time I went to purchase Naruko's product, I am very attracted by its packaging.

This is the only Narcissus DNA Repairing Series I got when these were all photographed. This series is for, as the name suggest, protects and repairs the skin.

Bought this serum before the Rose Series ones. It indeed helped a lot with my skin condition as it repairs my skin from within.

My regime is always the usual, start off with cleanser, toner/lotion, serum, moisturizer. Some say we should use the serum after the moisturizer and some does the same as me. I'm guessing different brands or products have their own steps.

I found that my steps works for me so if yours is different than mine, please don't feel weird about it. You could always look for assistance from the product counter if you are not sure. =)

Last month I spend on skincare again since my Rose moisturizer, serum and Apple Seed cleanser was going to finish very soon.

Haul of that day.

The new stuff that I bought from that trip was

1) Narcissus Repairing Mask (the purple one behind)

Just tried out the Narcissus Repairing Mask before writing this post and all I can say it is very moisturizing. Although the smell of Narcissus is not to my liking, it is very mild and I can see myself using it a lot after this.

2) the new series that they just launched - Oriental Beauty Tea Series and I bought their Youth Revitalizing Serum ( revitalizing & anti-aging)

3) the Apple Seed & Tranexamic Acid Black Spots and Lines Defying Moisturizer that I got for my mom.

Last but not least, I really love Naruko's products! I love it has a lot of series to mix and match to suit your every need. What I did was I mixed Rose Cleanser, Apple Seed Lotion, Narcissus Serum and lastly Rose Moisturizer.

You can choose what you think it is more suitable for your skin type, troubles or needs and just mix them up! Plus the price is really affordable for such big bottle of goodness.

I had really fall in love in having to do my skin care every day after using Naruko as I know it does help with my skin problems and the smell of the products are all very mild and pleasant.

For now, my top skincare products are definitely from Naruko. Period. =D

If you are planning to switch to new skincare products or just want to try out the goodness of it after reading this, I would say go ahead!

Oh and by the way, this post is not sponsored okay. I bought every single products shown and mentioned here myself. This post is just to show my appreciation towards the goodness of the products had given me and to help others in anyway to find what may work for them too.

That's all, and talk to you soon!

31.08.14

Hello!

It's been awhile since I updated. It's now 3.47a.m and I can't seems to fall asleep. But it's okay, I shall update my blog to fill up the time than to waste it turning around in bed.

So, last 2 weeks I've been starting on something I've always wanted to do. I will not say what it is here yet, I like to see how everything goes before it started telling everyone. Though I did told one or two of my closes friends about it.

I've not really started much 'cause I was really busy at work with all the stock taking and preparations for new outlet's opening. *Sigh*

Tomorrow, or should I say, today is public holiday. Our National Day is anyone did not already know. So I won't be able to proceed with my stuff since all shops are all closed.

And I will also be spending my 2 Days 1 Night with the bride and groom to-be a bunch of thier groomsmen and bridesmaids at the Sematan Beach Resort.

I'm so happy for them that they are going to get married in just 3 weeks time!

Gosh, come to think of it, I still haven't helped her to make the flower band and brooch for the bridesmaids and groomsmen! And not forgetting the ribbon for the bridesmaids too!

My my, I do hope I have enough time for all of this.

Yes I am going to help her handmade those two stuffs 'cause one, the bridal shop did not provide us with the flower band and the brooch. Second, the ribbon is so that all of us bridesmaids' dress will look uniform.

I am one of the bridesmaid so I have the responsibility to help the bride out. Well, even though if I'm not, I WILL help too. 'Cause it is just me to involve in such matter. Helping out friends, involving myself in tiny parts of their major events of their lives.

Very kepo hor? Yeah I think so too. LOL.

Till then.

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - Day 5

Hi Hi!

So finally, the last day of our trip to Kota Kinabalu.

Phew! Can't believe I kind of, sort of post everyday in KK up at one go.

Because you know, normally people would have post it at interval with other post so that people won't get bored reading it, or they are really very happening to have all sort of stuff to blog about. =P

Okay enough with nonsense and here is another entry that consist of mainly pictures.

I shall talk more next time, I guess? =D

So for the last day, we went to 2 islands, Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sapi.

Le girls waiting for our man inside Jesselton Point office

Bread and drinks for later on the islands.

It is better for you to buy your food before going to the islands in case you get hungry later on. But who else am I kidding?! Of course you will get hungry after all the water activities you going to have there.

Although I'm not sure about the prices for the food sold on the island, I'm still convinced that bringing your own food is better. For people like us that travels on budget at least.

Plus, any kind of buns and snacks tastes as great as any other gourmet food when you are hungry. =D

Preparing to board our speed boat.

Still have time for one last pose before going into the boat.

First stop, Pulau Manukan.

How cute are they? I hope I can be as loving as them with my future husband when we got old. <3

Second stop, Pulau Sapi.

We walked back to our hotel/inn after that and it was hilarious. We did not change back to our normal clothes and we just walked back with bikinis and scarf wrap around us the above picture.

*Sorry no bikini photos here! xD*

It was not that weird when you were at Jesselton Point, but try imagining walking around like that on the road with shopping malls beside you and cars on the road and you crossing roads. LOL!

Bathed and went out for dinner at the restaurant just beside our stay for the last day, Ang's Hotel.

Old school elevator. Nostalgic.

And now, comes the food and highlight of the night. I present to you, the famous Fatt Kee Kopitiam's chicken wings, Oyster Sesame Sause Chicken Wings!

This is the yummiest chicken wing I've ever tasted!

And before I sit here and write out this post, I had no idea that this restaurant was so famous. We just went down to this restaurant, sat down, ordered couple of dishes without knowing anything. That was the best dish I tasted during my entire trip to Kota Kinabalu. Maybe there are other dish KK is famous for but I have not tried it, so I would not judge if you say there are others more tasty than this. And people have different taste and liking in food, so yup, for me this is the best. =)

Braised trotters or pork leg as we like o call it.
It was yummy according to my friends, but I do not do pork leg because of the fats. It was just okay for me.

Takoyaki.
Yummy according to my friends who ate few serving of this for like everyday during our trip there.

Headed back to Ang's Hotel after strolling the mall, which I have totally forgotten the name and exact mall we went to, and then out again to Texas GrillRestaurant and Bar.

 "Ma hamster", says le boyfriend.

Glad we make a trip there. The atmosphere was nice for chilling out, having dinner and so on. With music that was not too loud for our ears and we can actually hear what my friends were talking about which in some cases in other restaurant and bar, we could only see their lips moving but all we heard was the loud music blasting in the background.

So that was about it, my trip to Kota Kinabalu. And gosh, finally it is all up and published. HAHAHA!

Week 13 & 14, 2014

Hi hi!

It's been absolutely the best week ever so far in year 2014.

Went for a staycation at Sematan Beach Resort, happy hour with a bunch of energetic friends and most importantly, accompany my friend to look for her perfect wedding gown! =D

I'm so so happy for her and also excited on helping her with the whole wedding planning stuffs. Really can't wait! =D

ANYWAY, let's talk about my stayction at Sematan first, shall we? =)

So in Week 13 or should i say the end of week 13, our friend came back from miri so we all decided to take 1 or 2 days leave off and went for a staycation at Sematan. It took us around 1 and a half hour to 2 hours to reach there.

 Say hi everyone!

Le driver having his prof. moments explaining some structure of cars.

 My travel buddy!
Dumb dumb says Harrow~

 Lunch.
Looks disgusting but it's the bomb after we spread on our homemade sambal. =)

The guys playing games while waiting for lunch.

Nice view isn't it?
Credits to Tyng and Hui for taking the pictures.
Taken with Panasonic Lumix GF6.

After swimming and volleyball session, we went back our hostel to start up fireplace for BBQ dinner that night.

Cooked our rice using pot on stove.

Have not done this since secondary school during one of my scouting modern cooking exam.
Luckily it turned out great! Except for the part where the inconsistent heat emitted from the stove that burned part of the rice (= =)"'

Have not taken much picture after this 'cause I have gone for shower and my camera's battery died on me after that. I did remember charging it not long ago before this but *sigh* it is destined I guess. *wink*

But luckily I still managed to capture some of our dinner before my camera's battery dies. =)

After dinner we went out to the beach with marshmallow and fireworks.

The view, was beautiful. We all laid on the beach, looking up in the dark sky with hundreds and thousands of stars above us.

It was amazing.

The sound of the waves hitting against the shore, with thousands of stars above us, the warmth and dim light from the fireplace just in front of us, and great company with our pals. Those memory are so vivid to me whenever I close my eyes.

Never would I thought that I could find such surreal feeling in such normal beach in Sematan. I guess it is not always about how many stars the hotel has or how well known the place is but the little things we do together and the company that makes the quality of the stay.

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - Day 4

Hi hi!

I'm guessing I'll be posting up all the days in Sabah last year until the last =P

Here's the links for previous days if you're keen =)

Day 1
Day 2
Day 3!

Anyway, here goes Day 4!

Day 4 was a shopping day for us and we went several places so we didn't really have time to stop and post for pictures 'cause we were running out of time!

Oh oh oh and this time we manage to get ourselves a coach again with the price of a normal taxi (the 1st time was from the airport to our hotel)!

While we were at our last shopping mall (i don't remember what's the name already), we asked the customer service if they could help to call us a taxi 'cause the mall wasn't really in walking distance.

And while we were waiting for the taxi(we still didn't know that it would be a coach that turned up to pick us up), a boy riding this blue teletubbies keep going round and round us and somehow felt like he was showing off his ride to us.

That really made us ROFL real hard for quite some time there.

Too bad we couldn't manage to take a clear picture of the boy.

Thank you for the entertainment! =)

Preparing to head out for our dinner!

The long queue Bak Kut Teh shop.

You literally have to queue up for seats outside the shop.

So remember to bring umbrella out with you if you're planning to eat there when it rains.

But luckily we went just before the peak hour started and we got seated minutes after reaching.

Posing for pictures before the food came.

As usual.

Busy looking up for rooms to stay in for the last day tomorrow due to flight reschedule by AirAsia.

To be fair, I have to clarify that AirAsia didn't reschedule our flight last minute. Our original flight to Sabah was in July and they had inform us about the reschedule in May.

But, le boyfriend said we could easily get a room on that day so I didn't think much about it and go with his suggestion.

I really shouldn't have listen to him, really. = =

Anyway, back to our dinner~

Can't really tell from here but it was so crowded inside and out!

People queuing outside the shop with umbrellas 'cause it was raining and it ain't small rain drops I guarantee you.

Went back to the hotel and decided to play a round of snooker, shared by 3 person. HAHA!!

 Le amateur.

After that, we got bored and the night is still young. So, we got our bags and head out to shopping mall to walk around.

But as usual, we ended up having snacks and eats away. HAHAHA!
